Nepal
is a multiethnic, multilingual, multi-religious, democratic,
independent, sovereign, Secular and constitutional monarchical kingdom.
Nepal is located 80°4' and 88°12' east longitude and 26°22' and 30°27'
north latitude. The total area is 147, 181 sq. km. This is about 0.03%
of the world and 0.3% of Asia. The length of the kingdom is 885 km.
east-west (550 miles) and its width varies between 145 to 241 km.
north-south, with the average width of 193 km. All along its northern
border is the Tibet Autonomous Region of People's Republic of China,
and, in the east-west and south is India. In the east, Mechi river is
the boundary between Nepal and India, and in the west, the Mahakali
river forms boundary, on the most part. In the south, boundary pillars
and about 9-meter-wide strip of land known as of "no man's land" on the
border demarcate the Nepalese and Indian territories.
